Fairytales & Folklore
Based on the four seasons, this poster series takes inspiration from various artists. Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, Itokazu Taiga, known for his intense perspective drawings, and James Fenner’s blown-out saturation of colors, are just a few combined aspects under the roof of the artist’s style. Each poster features one of the artist’s characters rendered as fairytale or folklore icons.
Since the series would contain exaggerated perspectives and rich, saturated colors, the goal was to convey a scene with easily recognizable elements. Winter depicts Red Riding Hood in a dark woodland setting. Spring sees the fiery battle between a knight and a dragon. Summer settles on Robin Hood spilling the gold from a wealthy traveler. Autumn displays the terrifying first encounter between Goldilocks and the three bears.
